Does the charging port have anything to do with the motherboard on a laptop?

about 2 years ago we took my gateway laptop which was worth around 699 usd in for not being able to charge. they said that it was the motherboard and that it would never turn on again unless it was replaced. and they were going to charge 769 for the repairs. We said no and we would just buy a new computer. so today i took that very same laptop and exchanged the dead battery inside for a fully charged one, but it still did not charge, but it turned on for the first time in 3 years. So either they were lieing to us about the damages to make a big profit for doing nothing or they didnt even look at the laptop. i was using geek squad from best buy. repairs for this would only cost around 10 dollars i found out.

I was held on a $150,000.00 CASH bond (very excessive for a medically retired miner on a fixed income) until 04/13/11 when the judge lowered my bond to $5,000.00 secured bond ($500.00 cash) and I bailed myself out.The prosecutor moved to dismissed the charges without prejudice on 05/27/11 and the judge ordered the charges dismissed. I was in custody from 04/26/06 until 04/13/11,thirteen days short of five years.I need your help in this matter as it pertains to Pinal County (3.5 year in jail) and the State of Arizona (1.5 years in A.D.O.C.) .Who do I contact and how? Is there an organization that helps people who have had this happen to them? I thank you for any and all help you can give me,as I have no idea how to proceed. Dell 1420 VGA port will not work with cable to HDTV?

I got a cable from radioshack to connect my Dell 1420 to my Viore 32" HDTV. For the first few days it worked great, then just randomly quit working. When I plug it in now, the tv just says No Signal and won't pick it up at all. The cable is fine, and works on my roommates laptop. Is there some kind of reset or troubleshooter for my vga output?

I recently took my 3 year old daughter to DIsney World in Orlando, & she's been weird ever since. She began coughing on the plane ride home, & I figured it was just a random cough. It didn't stop though, so I took her to the doctor, & he said it was nothing. She's had a fever of 99-102 for a few days; nothing brings it down. I've taken her to different places to get her checked out, & nobody is doing anything to help at all. I've found nothing online, & this is really a last resort. Interesting Guy Problem, Advice and Thoughts?

Okay, this is going to be long, but I really need truthful opinions from people who aren't my friends.. Alright so I met this guy in drivers ed during winter time lets call him Matt and me and him became super good friends and now were really close and i definitely consider him a best friend. I talk to him about everything! Anyways the other night we went ice skating together, and i had his phone while he was doing some weird trick and a friend called him, so I figured id just answer it.. so i did. Never knew this phone call would lead to such.. insaness. Well this guy was like hii ill call him Jeff, and im like hi.. and we talked for like 3 mins lol no big deal but then Matt came over and yanked the phone away and i was like whoops ha ha, but still we continued the night as normal, and at dinner matt told me that jeff was supposed to come with us but he got grounded.. so matt told me a little about him. He liked country music, they did cross country together, that the kid was super nice, blah bla bla.. I was like oh you'll have to invite Jeff to our next outing together. After that i drove home, and i was like well since jeff will be coming to our next outing together i might as well introduce myself. I found him on facebook and emailed him telling him next outing, grounded or not, we were dragging him along lol just in a joking way :P and we just started emailing more and found out we had SO MUCH IN COMMON. we both adore country, and we just get each other. That night he asked for my number, and I gave it to him thinking "hey new cool best friend, woo" I was pretty happy. Well me and Jeff started texting everyday, and talking more and more getting closer and closer, then came the pphone calls and one night he just told me he couldn't talk to me anymore. I was like WHAAA. like me and this kid had such a good relationship that i couldn't stand him saying that to me. I asked why and he told me he couldn't tell me much, just that him and Matt were in a fight and that he couldn't talk to me anymore.. and I was like no that's not happening i dont care what kind of fight you and matt are in , i dont want to be in the middle of it. Jeff told me we could keep chitchatting but only if i kept it a secret from matt and i was like alright.. so me and Jeff then webcammed for one night for like four hours, and we just were really flirty like we had been alot.. and it was just cute innocent stuff, getting to know each other (im only sixteen lol, so nothing serious) well when we hung up on webcam that night i came to realize i was developing feeling for this kid. alot.. and so me and him planned on meeting that thursday at the movies and his friend John was coming along with Matt and my two girl friends Alice and Joanne.. two nights before we went to the movies though I got a text from Matt saying he liked me alot and he couldn't control his feelings, and I did NOT feel the same way at all, like i just see him as a friend completely. So I told him that I dont feel the same and that I only see him as a best friend and i hope we can remain that way, and he seemed pretty upset so I sent him a text saying you know what who knows maybe one day in the future.. and I realized i should have never said that.. Jeff told me a few days later that Matt took that as a "i should keep trying then".. So on thurs. when I went to the movies it was so awkward.. I could barely talk to Jeff because I had to act like i didn't know him or else matt would get mad and at the movies i sat in between both of them and i just wanted to snuggle with jeff and matt kept trying to like touch me and i felt uncomfortable and i couldn't flirt with jeff at all, and i wanted him to know that i liked him.. and anyways afterwords we went for ice cream and stuff and were hanging out and Matt was in my footsteps ALL NIGHT. like everywhere i was he was too. EVERYWHERE. i couldn't talk to anyone all night, and i was getting so annoyed with him. Anyways, I took everyone home because I had my license and when i said bye to jeff i gave him a huge hug and was just like well that was an.. interesting night.. and he just shook his head and smiled.. i wanted to like cry, i was like so much for that guy)': anyways i went to McDonald's and got a mcflurry cause i needed to think things over and i decided to text him just apologizing that the night was awkward and that i hope next time wouldn't have to be like that and he texted me back your amazing, dint worry about it <3 and so i decided to tell him.. everything. BCBS told me that they DID cover a certain procedure ( not pre-existing malady ) and so I went forward with procedure. They paid the claim. I then had same procedure done a second time and submitted 2nd claim. BCBS said 'oh, we don't cover that......... Adult with bad whooping cough! Advise!!?

I'm on my 5th week of whooping cough. I finally went to doctor 3rd week to be told I had walking pneumonia. I was given antibiotics and an inhaler. They did not work. Went back a week later and was diagnosed with whooping cough. I was told to keep doing the inhaler every 4 hours and I was given an inhaler with steroids in it to do 2x a day (to keep the swelling down in chest). I also take the cough syrup with codeine in it (takes the edge off but does not take the cough away). All this seems to keep the coughing fits down. I also sleep elevated in a cool room with a cough drop in my mouth! I hope you get relief soon, this stuff in no joke!

A good place to live in Canada?

hmm well you wont get hated for being an "outsider" because only 30% of our population is canadian. at first i was thinking vancouver because its beautiful and warm (tied 3rd for worlds best city for a couple of years now) but its super expensive. then i was thinking maybe edmonton (anything except the north side is safe) easy to get a job would be alberta (fort mcmurray to be exact making were people make 120,000$ average anually wen workig in the oilsands) but i would say toronto area if you want multiculturalism but toronto is pretty expensive ( fort mcmurray isnt a terrible city but no where near as beautiful as vancouver but house prices are about the same) . just some points for you id say check out Fort mcmurray (jobs) , vancouver (beautiful, safe) , edmonton , toronto (multiculturalism)

Laptop Charger, smelt burning!?

i was on my laptop and i smelt burning, it was charging at the time, i saw smoke coming from the charger box (dell inspiron 1525). i pulled the cord out of the laptop reli quick and then took it off the mains. the charger is not actually a dell one, but one off ebay that i bought a few months ago, and it came with 1 years warranty so it is still under that. i initially thought my laptop was fine, it worked as normal, but now when i got my brothers charger and go to charge it, it does not charge, and i can smell burning in the charging port of the laptop. what could be wrong with the laptop? and are the people who sold me the charger liable for any of it?

What kind of bug is this?

I found it in the windowsill of my house. (Manitoba, Canada). It was all black, except for where its wings would be under, which were bright red. It had long antennae, and longish legs. It also had a bit of white on its face. It was a VERY fast flyer. It's size was about 1 or 1.5 cm long. When it flew around, it landed on my hand and my shirt on different occasions, and didn't sting, bite, or do anything except fly away again after a couple of seconds. Actually, it was quite a nice bug, as far as bugs go. Just wondering what it could be, is all.

There are really only three suitable cities in the provinces you stated you want to move to. Of those three, Calgary is your best choice. Edmonton and Winnipeg are really cold cities and have a lot of crime. So I wouldn't suggest going to those cities at all.

K, so I have to get the whooping shot shot on Fri. Cause it is now mandatory for all students 7-12 grade in CA to get the shot. Does it hurt?? How should I discipline my 5 year old brother?

My 5 year old half brother is just plain and simply bad. He swears, hits, is disrespectful, listens to no one, and says violent sentences such as, "I will cut your head off." Why won't my desktop and laptop communicate?

I have a laptop and desktop. I wanted to transfer some files through an ethernet cable via my router so I plugged the cable into my laptop and then into one of the ports on my router. i want to create a web-based business producing free-ware on the internet, a way of doing this i thought i could get my server (this is just going to be hosting the site) and hook it up through ethernet and portforward port 80 to the servers static ip address. As per MLSE the St. John's Leafs became the Marlies not because of any attendance issues at Mile One, but because they wanted their AHL team nearby. Given that the attendance at Ricoh isn't very good, I will take their word for that. As the Moose are presently affiliated with the Canucks, it obviously isn't a necessity that a AHL affiliate be located nearby. Besides, any team is on the road half the time so who knows where in North America the big club and the farm club could be when any given call-up comes. Aside from that the Mile One Centre is a nice building, and the oil industry is bringing a lot of wealth into Saint John's these days. Therefore it should be all good.

How should I react to my parents?

When I was a child I always remembered fond memories of my mom and dad. My dad would take me to the park mostly all the time and we would do a lot of things together. External Monitor Replacement?

So my laptop's monitor has been fused for a while now. I have been using an external monitor hooked to my laptop's VGA port and it works. However, I have been wanting to know if there is a way to show the BIOS/Boot into my external monitor. I have disabled my laptop's monitor, but that has not done any changes. The only way for me to enter into Windows is by turning my laptop on, wait a couple of seconds, and then hit the Enter Key, since I am dual-booting Win7 and Ubuntu. After waiting for a couple more seconds, the log-in screen is shown in my external monitor and I can use it from then on. Cant open ports 2300-2400 on windows 7 using a D LINK DI 615 router.?

Its been ages, a lot of googling but still cant open the mentioned ports. Any ideas. I do the following. Open ports on router. Add the triggers as well. Try both Dis and Enable UPNP. Disabling firewalls on Laptop and router. Try both ways on DMZ's settings on router. Check everything. Still when I check on www.grc.com these ports show closed (NOT STEALTH) and I cant play AOE3 online. Router uses a firmware 4.0. Please solve this.

I recently bought the hp laserjet 4050 n printer second-hand. I want to install it on my dell laptop that runs on windows xp. I've connected the printer to the laptop, and windows automatically sensed the printer and said that it was ready to use, however the printer didn't seem to be installed. I installed it manually, using the driver for hp laserjet 4050 n ps, and windows says the printer is installed correctly but neither the test pages nor any other documents will print. I tried troubleshooting, but that hasn't helped either. The 'investigate' button in the troubleshooter says there may be a problem with the parallel port, but I have no idea where to go from here. Any assistance would be appreciated.

It strikes me as strange that I can help any one else with these types of problems but when it is my own child I don't know what I am doing! My lil girl will be 2 in August this year and her father says she needs to start learning. The reason for that is when we are talking she will start yelling to be heard over us but when we stop she stops. Wow Cat797 is one awesome king. But really depends how powerfull your locomotive is. need to consider locos have an easy job pulling loads along a relatively flat rail road with metal rails that have much less resistance. The 797 however has to be able to climb up inclines and move on its huge gignormous wheels which have immense surface area in contact with a muddy sticky floor. So I would say the Caterpillar 797 should be much more powerful right on!

My friend gave me a router because I need a new one. Its a linsys WRT55AG. I connect it to my modem. In the back theres 4 ports and an internet port. When I put the ethernet cable for the internet in the internet port, I get a yellow internet icon and am not connected to it. When I put the ethernet cable in any of the 4 ports, the internet works. I only have another cable which connects to my other computer which is also in 1 of the 4 ports. The computers are in the same network and I can access each other, but my other computer doesn't receive internet. If I put the calbe in the internet port, the network doesn't even detect the second computer. Is the router broken? I can't connect to 192.168.1.1 while connect to the internet on my main computer (only if I place the modem wire to the internet port I can then access 192.168.1.1, however, I don't get an internet connection). All the TCP/IP 4 / 6 / DNS are set at obtain IP automatically, no password protections. Anyway to solve this? or new router?

I recently got injured last weekend when I was about a half mile into lake Ontario, from a beach in Port Dalousie which is by the city of St.Catharines. I was swimming with my friend, and leaning back in the water, and kicking me legs at an even pace in front of me and out of nowhere me leg felt like the tendons ripped and muscle ripped, although I'm in perfectly good health. Before this happened to my leg I heard electrical buzzing under the water. I had to get taken by ambulance and my leg has still been numb for days.
