Moving to States for schooling?

Yes hi i currently live in Winnipeg Manitoba and want to go to NYC for a course that is well only in NYC ... i looked on the internet and everyone says that the only way you can go to states as a Canadian is by marriage or if you have a job out there. But i only want to go for schooling, is this possible or ..?
