Can anyone clarify something about the place called "Ruperts land?" PLEASE HELP?

Rupert's Land basically was the territory given to the Hudson Bay Company by England to monopolize for its natural resources. Rupert's Land covered much of what is present day northern Canada from approximately the Hudson Bay and due west. Fort Gary (Winnipeg), Manitoba and Red River Region are all portions of Rupert's Land.
