Getting started! Getting out there!?

A friend of mine has an amazing voice, beautifully talented when it comes to writing her own songs and loves playing guitar. She wants to figure out a way to get going but were not sure where to start. She's extremely devoted and when it comes to music she feels everything so deeply. She has the potential to get somewhere she just needs to know where to start. She lives in winnipeg manitoba if ANYBODY has ANY information it would be greatly appreciated, she wants this more than anything and will do anything to get there.
